Through Construction Management services, Hampshire Construction allows you to concentrate on your business while we handle the concerns of the project. We’ll work with you from the start, helping you value-engineer the project to accommodate all of your needs and goals. Budgeting starts early and is revised frequently as design progresses to allow you to make the decisions necessary to develop the ideal project. We’ll handle all of the concerns of everyday construction project developments and update you in weekly meetings. This allows you to continue your normal business routine and yet stay on top of what is happening with your project.

Some key points of our approach to Construction Management include:

• Initial budgeting to help you determine the size of the project
• Value-engineer with the client to develop the most economical and efficient project
• Guaranteed not to exceed pricing once the construction documentation is completed
• Develop and maintain a project schedule
• Develop bidding documentation to solicit bids
• Develop a bidders list with owner’s input to make certain contractors the owner wants on the project are given an opportunity
• Solicit a minimum of three bids for the trades Hampshire Construction does not self-perform
• Review bids and make recommendations to the owner
• Develop and maintain project insurance and safety programs
• Administer all subcontracts
• Collect, review and submit applications for payment, with lien waivers, to the owner of AIA requisition forms
• Oversee all construction including final punch list and all scheduled inspections
• Coordinate system start up activities between the subcontractors and owner
• Prepare and submit turnover documentation, including warranties, product specification information, instruction manuals, occupancy permit and a subcontractor list

The Design/Build method truly allows a full-service quality contractor to shine. This method has all the advantages of a negotiated contract; additionally, the contractor provides or controls the design responsibilities. In this way, the contractor who is selected because of his Abilities, Reputation and Quality can offer the full advantages of his experience and knowledge in the design.

Substantial time savings can be realized. For example, with the foundations just beginning, the interior finishes and other later design details are still being considered. This is referred to as “Fast-Tracking” a project.

The Design/Build method also provided the owner with a single source of responsibility for a quality project, completed on time. This all adds up to less risk and more peace of mind for both the Owner and the Design/Build Contractor.

Hampshire Construction Co., Inc. (HCC), takes seriously its obligation and commitment to provide a safe and healthy work environment for all of its employees and subcontractors.

In order to achieve the goal of “zero accidents,” HCC, with the active participation of both management and field personnel, has developed a comprehensive safety program. This program reflects not only a conscientious effort to comply with all federal, state and local health and safety regulations, but seeks through constant training and repetition to raise the awareness of the critical importance of safety in the everyday workplace.

In addition to the financial support and personal involvement of management, HCC’s Safety Program includes the services of a health and safety consultant whose input contributed to the development of the Employee’s Safety Manual. Additionally, the Safety Officer has completed several OSHA training courses.

Safety-related training goes far beyond the weekly Tool Box Talks. All Project Managers and field supervisors are required to attend and complete OSHA training courses. Safety is the first topic of discussion at weekly Project Manager’s Meetings. Safety audits and hazard analysis inspections of job sites reinforce safety consciousness.

By providing its employees with the necessary personal protective equipment, HCC is able to require 100% compliance with hard hat and safety glasses usage on each job site, as well the fall protection standard. Supplying its workforce with quality tools and equipment, backed by a well-equipped shop, enables HCC to insist on the highest standards of performance and safety practice.

Doing a job quickly in an unsafe manner is NOT acceptable to HCC. Safety is top priority and insuring that each of its employees goes home at night as healthy as they arrived in the morning is paramount in its corporate planning.
