Frequently Asked Questions

Time

"How much time will it take to complete my service?"

Answering this question without a complete consultation is almost impossible.  There are so many variables of why some might take longer than others.  When a new client comes in, we take a health history.  We then have a long consultation. We take into consideration the many biological factors that can heavily influence hair growth.  At this point, we make a decision on what type of treatment you will need, how much time to schedule for an appointment and at what frequency should you come in.  It is our job to educate you, as the client, so you will understand the concept of electrolysis.

Reasons for hair growth

Individuals have different circumstances that lead to unwanted hair. Temporary hair removal, such as waxing, threading or tweezing can encourage hair growth.  Hormonal imbalances, heredity and medications can also have consequences in relation to the amount of active hair follicles one might have.  Finally, as we all know, stress can also factor into any given situation.

Cost

Cost is determined by the scheduled appointment time.  This, of course, is not the answer you were looking for.  The cost for electrolysis is changed by appointments, of which vary in time.  It is important to understand the more hair eliminated is not always the most effective result.  You need a certified electrologist that is very skilled at her/his profession.  The right insertion disables the hair in seconds, while some take a few seconds more.  Again, there are so many variables that come into play with this question, and most of the same answers that relate to "how much time will complete my service."  After your consultation, we can discuss which treatment plan and fees work best for you.

Sterilization

We take this very seriously, as well it should be. The CDC (Center for Disease Control) has developed standards for sterilization for any instruments that come in contact with blood or bodily fluids.   We believe and follow these strict infection control standards.  We autoclave our instruments, use disposable filaments and disposable gloves. We also follow universal precautions, including hand washing before and after each and every client.

Which areas can be treated?

Any area of the body can be treated, with the exception of the hairs inside the nose or inside the ear.  Common areas are the facial area, bikini area, breasts, hands and toes.
