The tri-state area of West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio rely on Taylor Iron & Metal for all their scrap metal recycling needs.

Located at 1st St. and 3rd Ave. in Huntington, West Virginia.  Directly across the Ohio River from the state of Ohio, and less than fifteen minutes from the Kentucky state line, Taylor Iron & Metal is a true regional recycling center.

We currently draw scrap from our local area and as far as one hundred miles away.  Our plans for the future include reaching even further to service the areas scrap metals needs.

Located on the corner of 1st St. and 3rd Ave. in Huntington, West Virginia.  Taylor Iron & Metal uses state inspected and approved scales with digital indicators, and most are equipped with ticket printers.  We have the capabilities to weigh from one pound on our platform scales, or up to 200,000 pounds on our 70-foot long truck scales.  Our different types of scales enable us to weigh almost anything that a customer needs to scrap.

We use state-of-the-art hydraulic scrap handlers to unload your "big loads".  Being equipped with either a magnet or grapple, we can handle your heavy material.

We use a 500-ton Harris hydraulic guillotine shear to prepare scrap metal down to size.  This shear enables us to process materials in a timely manner.

A Celco 2-ram baler is used to bale lightweight non-ferrous materials, such as aluminum cans, sheet aluminum, radiators, copper, and other materials.  Materials that are purchased loose and bulky can be condensed down to bales that are manageable with the use of a forklift.

Aluminum cans are purchased at our covered can recycling area.  We use a system known as a master can buyer.  Once aluminum cans are placed into the hopper, a conveyor carries them where they are magnetically separated to remove any steel cans or debris.  The aluminum cans then fall into a weigh hopper where they are weighed.  With just a few touches of some buttons, the machine records the weight, figures the payment amount, and prints a receipt for the customer.  We feel this machine speeds up customer service, as well as helps protect against customer or employee fraud.

All scrap iron and steel products coming into our yard must pass through our state-of-the-art radiation detection system.  This system helps protect the customer, as well as our yard and employees by scanning loads for any radioactive material.
