ARIZONA COACHES

Kyle Gorman, The Glove Doctor,  retired to the Phoenix Area in the fall of 2010 after coaching high school and college baseball for 25 years in So. Calif.  has coached at all the HS levels and Junior College.  He continues to work with the Chicago White Sox So. Calif. Scout Program in the off season on the weekends.  A catcher and charter member of the first teams at Hilltop HS and Southwestern College, Chula Vista, Ca in the early sixties.  His father was a successful high school and college Basketball/Football/Baseball coach and he got his first taste coaching while recovering from a broken leg after his junior year in HS.  At 21 he moved to Palm Springs and became a policeman.  Since there was no adult baseball in the area, he started playing fastpitch softball on the department team.  Within a couple of years he was playing and managing his own travel team.  He also began coaching at Palm Springs HS and developed two softball tournaments.  The "King and his Court" came to town on a couple of occasions to play the team from Kyle's Sports Center, Palm Springs original sportings goods store and came away with one of there few loses.

This past season he served as a consultant for Coach Richardson's Tolleson HS program, while getting a feel for the area and it's needs.  The White Sox Scout Program is about getting players ready to play at the next level[college]. We stress academics.  So, starting a teaching academy in this area that parents can afford, will help players develop as student athletes and allows them access to an education that may not have been available to them.

  CALIFORNIA COACHES

Tim Ammentorp, Head Baseball Coach, 20yrs, at Redondo Union HS in Redondo Beach, ca.  Coach was a all league catcher at Covina Hs in the mid 70's and was a member of the UCLA Baseball program for four years.  Unfortunately, future major leaguer Don Slaught was also a member of the program at the time and needless to say he got the majority of the playing time.  Tim learned everything he could from Coach Adams and his staff and was very successful relating that to others.
