Construction jobs are laid out using a coordinate geometry quality control system that has been pre-calced in the office from the design plans and downloaded into the field computer. CAD work drawings are created for visual aids to expedite the field layout by providing a work drawing for both the surveyor and the contractor. We establish a system of control points and targets from which column lines, wall lines etc. can be laid out with very high accuracy. At Triad Surveys, our surveyors use electronic total station surveying instruments coupled with field computers and proven quality control surveying practices to achieve the high accuracy that meets or exceeds the standards for building and column line locations as outlined in "The American Institute of Steel Construction" manual.
